Slash Our Pride....Lokesh Raj Arora
Don't we just live in such a dichotomy in this world,
Where we slash our pride for a miniature dose of dopamine.
You might say pride as ugly,
I do agree, but isn't the friendship you broke for a minuscule dose of dopamine uglier.
Oh! I wonder the world we live in,
So simple yet so frustratingly complex;
Then I glance over to the cat,
She licks her paws clean
Eats her daily dose of fish
Goes into her one of many basks
Which to you may seem sluggish,
But for her it is nothing short of marvellous.
Don't we all live with biases
Some inherent, some not so much
Look back, how does it benefit you.
The time where you let go of your friend
Because of a certain bias you had
You now long for the same feeling of togetherness
How did it make you whole?
Oh! I wonder when I look back
How stupid we might look with our biases
These un-funny rules and regulations
Beside the creatures we've lived for years and years
Wouldn't they glance at us with bias
Of dumbness that we cast on them.
